Abstract:

In my research I explored queer relationships and domestic abuse within those relationships. Further, I used Carmen Maria Machado’s memoir “In the Dream House” to emphasize queer abuse within the home. I developed a working thesis of a house as a prison, or as the problem as seen in fairy and folktales alike. I found also that abuse does not happen in queer relationships because they are queer, but rather the abuser can be any gender.
