Abstract:

My posters purpose is about learning more about the divide between men and women in data science, and how the gap will either widen or shrink based on female representation or lack thereof. Since the science field is mainly male-dominated and lacks female presence, my purpose is to understand how this leads to gaps in the data and how it affects data science studies. By creating this poster with Dr. Bellis, I will presenting my finding from the reading: Invisible Women Data Bias in a World Designed For Men by Caroline Criado Perez. This poster would allow other students and I to further understand gender bias and the data collection process.
