Abstract:

In my research presentation I explore the history of the NFL and the constant theme that is the lack of African Americans in leadership positions. Throughout the history of the NFL, there has been a lack of African Americans in coaching and other coaching positions while the majority of the player base is African American. My research presentation goes over studies and statistics that further suggest this idea that African Americans have not been given opportunities for leadership positions. While looking at the lack of African Americans in leadership positions, my research also highlights African Americans who have heroically broken these barriers.
