The Calming Effects of Nature Sounds on Cognitive Task Performance
Abstract:
The goal of this study is to determine if nature sounds have a calming effect on people as they try to perform well on a challenging task. The hypothesis is that nature sounds (as compared to sounds of an urban environment or no sound at all) will, in fact, improve performance, and allow participants to remain calm and focus on the challenging task at hand.
