Abstract:

My presentation focuses on Taylor Swift to display the concept that women in the music industry face a plethora of obstacles in order to find success and achievement as artists. My presentation discusses issue such as branding, online hate, sexual assault, mental health, and gender based stereotypes for women in the industry and how all of these issues create inequality in the music industry. In further exploring these issues with Taylor Swift, we can reflect on her personable lyrics about these issues and the abilities for talented women to overcome.
