Abstract:

Being a female elite runner and a mother do not coincide in the eyes of athletic sponsors. Said sponsors do not provide any emotional or financial support to their pregnant athletes, and far more often than not these women end up being discriminated against. A deep dive into what kind of mistreatment pregnant elite runners face, and who is responsible for such life altering damage was conducted to investigate what can be done to better support these athletes in a more appropriate manner.
