: Privilege or danger? Historical analysis of what is like to be a journalist in Colombia
Abstract:
Journalism over the years in Colombia has changed in different ways. It must be recognized that these changes have been in one way or another more positive than negative. Being a journalist before in the history of Colombia and wanting to tell the truth meant living in fear that at any moment the different Colombian mafias (2021d) could assassinate you for exposing the corruption that the country was experiencing at that time. The journalism that could be carried out was the corrupt journalism that manipulated the information that the country could know or that it should believe (2021d). The history of Colombian journalism has been stained with war, blood, and corruption, but in recent years some journalists have managed to change that story and have created a more transparent and real vision of journalism(2021d), this has now made people trust more in the news that journalism gives. Although there is still a lot of corruption around journalism, there is evident positive progress on this issue. In this presentation I will talk about the history that exists in the change that journalism has achieved in Colombia and some journalists who have been part of this change using Historical Analysis.Title
