I Want My Child to Understand History: Let's Talk Critical Race Theory
Abstract:
Many people against teaching Critical Race Theory in school are of the mindset that it will make children feel guilty about something that does not affect them; however, this assumption is not true. Critical Race Theory helps students better understand and connect with the past as well as create a better future. It is important to teach students about Critical Race Theory in schools; that way, students are more aware of the origins of the problems that face American institutions today. Acknowledging the roots of these problems will help people understand them and encourage budding activists to take the necessary steps to make changes for a more equitable society.Title
