How the Media Creates Heroes in Baseball

Abstract:

Baseball players can become heroes because of the media’s portrayal of them. The media takes players like Jackie Robinson and Babe Ruth and creates a story based on their lives, talents, and accomplishments. Media helps quickly spread information to almost anyone who wants it. Millions of people can watch and learn about players from the comfort of their own homes because of the media. The media uses fans to figure out which players they want to look at. This is because fans are the ones who want to know the information so if a certain player is a thing fans want, the media will give it to them. Jackie Robinson and Babe Ruth are prime examples of the media creating heroes in baseball. The media used their lives, talents and accomplishments to create heroic tales and kept them going for generations.
