Autism Spectrum Disordering: Educating to Eradicate Stigma
Abstract:
Autism Spectrum Disorder should be taught in the school curriculum to fix the many stereotypes and attitudes in society that hurt individuals with ASD. Teaching about ASD and the ways that autistic individuals are being dehumanized is a crucial step in acknowledging there is a problem that needs to be addressed. Acknowledging bullying and stopping this behavior at schools can help make these individuals feel more comfortable. Education is always the first step to change. We cannot continue as a society knowing individuals with ASD are constantly being treated poorly and excluded.Title
