American Women in a "Man's War"

Abstract:

My research focused on American Women and their role in World War II, or as they were told, their role in a “man’s war.” Many people are quick to think that the Allied Powers’ success against Nazi Germany came because of the brave men who took action on the battlefield, however, this is not totally true. World War II opened a world of opportunities for women and shifted society’s view on women forever. There were many different ways that women participated in the war. While these women were indispensable in the defeat of Nazi Germany, many of their fellow countrymen and enemies doubted their ability to fight and serve.
