Abstract:

In August 2021, President Biden signed an executive order setting a target that half of all new vehicle sales by 2030 will be zero-emissions vehicles, the majority of which will be electric vehicles. This will require one of the largest transformations in current infrastructure ever seen to power the continuous operation of electric vehicles. Using map data from OpenStreetMap in combination with Python, we present a theoretical charging network for the United States in order to electrify America and power the vehicles of the future.
