ASMA Case Study - Buffalo Bisons

Abstract:

The Buffalo Bisons, Triple-A affiliate of the Toronto Blue Jays, have seen a drastic decline in attendance since the COVID-19 Pandemic. While finishing 10th in average attendance at 6,846, our team has developed strategies to change this objective. This proposed presentation explores unique ways to increase physical attendance at Sahlen Field and improve the Bison’s social media presence. The fear of missing out, or FOMO, is a powerful motivator that is used in many successful social media campaigns to encourage consumer action in which we will utilize. We will incorporate FOMO with special events like giveaways, influencer marketing, and promotions. The designed season-long campaign will be oriented around a growing industry in sports betting complemented by a community event to celebrate the lively city of Buffalo. From these proposed campaigns, we hope to create lifelong Bisons fans and educate and better the community.
