"The Dial-Up Connection: The Internet's Impact on the 90s"
Abstract:
This presentation focuses on the Internet’s impact on different aspects of culture during the 90s. The Internet took the 90s by storm and completely changed the way people lived and interacted with each other virtually. When the Internet first began in the 90s, the dynamic of families and companies everywhere were altered. Views of media, entertainment, news, and opinions all changed when people were given the opportunity of an easily accessible Internet and the ability to stay connected to communicate and share their ideas with people all over the world. Teenagers used the Internet as an escape from reality, and companies used it to create more accessible ads and promotions. The increase in the use of the internet in the 90s and its growing popularity created the basis for how the media is viewed, used, and advertised, and it has contributed to the tech craved, constantly connected society that we are a part of today.
