Unlocking The JTI Case, Using Genetic Genealogy

Abstract:

This semester I have been doing research, and interning at DNA Investigations located in Saratoga Springs, NY. This presentation will be on the genetic genealogy case called JTI that I have been working to figure out and solve. The case involves a man who was adopted at birth and wanted to find out his birth parents. His mother was found through birth records, but his father is still unidentified. Unfortunately, the birth mother had passed away leaving him with a lot of questions that my advisor and I had to answer. In the end, we were successfully able to find his father and paternal side of the family . I will be presenting this case, and what actions were taken/ done to solve it.
