Abstract:

My project analyzes the pay disparity between men and women in professional basketball and soccer. I examine factors that drive revenue and parts of a professional athlete’s salary, and show the imbalance of those between the men and women in these sports. I then go on to explain how the United States Women’s National Team (soccer) was able to gain some equality in their pay in the sport, and furthermore how the WNBA is also starting to take steps towards equality.
